豪州のカー外相は１３日、岸田文雄外相との共同記者会見で、慰安婦問題で旧日本軍の強制性を認めた１９９３年の河野談話について「近代史で最も暗い出来事の一つであり、見直しは望ましくない」と述べた。

ただ、カー外相は会見で「中国を封じ込める考えはない。日豪にとって重要なパートナーだ」と指摘した。
