当局によると、死亡したのは医療施設に勤務する３０歳の放射線技師。９月２８日に死亡する１０日ほど前から体調が悪くなり、頭痛や腹痛、吐血、下痢などの症状を訴えていた。

潜伏期間は3～10日、発症は突然。診断する上で皮膚粘膜発疹は重要な症状。
初期症状
全身倦怠感、発熱、頭痛、嘔吐、下痢、筋肉痛、皮膚粘膜発疹、咽頭痛
1～2日後
吐血、下血、水様性下痢。
5～7日後
臀部、上肢外側に暗赤色丘疹が出現。
最終的にはDIC、ショックに至る。

A Ugandan man who was diagnosed with the Marburg Virus has died of the deadly disease in Kampala. The thirty year-old medic passed on at Mengo hospital where he was working. Authorities at the Ministry of health say they have isolated 80 people who are believed to have come into contact with him.

One person has been killed by an outbreak of the deadly Marburg virus. According to the Ministry of Health, the victim was a health worker attached to Mpigi Health Center IV. 80 other suspected cases are currently isolated at Mengo Hospital in Kampala, as they are being monitored.
